UPDATE NOW:
Finer numbers
Force now reads to 0.1 lb on every screen: quick start, gauge mode, assessments, and session review. If you have been rounding in your head between sessions to figure out whether you actually got stronger, you can stop.
One step required: this needs firmware 1.6.13 on your board. The app will prompt you when you connect. If it does not, you can trigger the update manually from the device screen. The higher resolution will not appear until the firmware is current.
Steadier connections on Android
We rebuilt how the app negotiates and holds a Bluetooth connection, with most of that work aimed at Pixel devices, which have been the hardest to keep paired. If you have been fighting your connection, 1.7 plus firmware 1.6.13 is the combination to run. If it still drops on you, write to us at team@pitchsix.com with your phone model. We are still chasing the last of these and real reports are what move it forward.
Assessments that stop losing your work
• Assessment routines now auto-save after five minutes of inactivity
• Assessments save when only one side was captured, instead of discarding the pull you did complete
• Assessments save in offline mode and sync when you are back on a connection
• Moment arm and bodyweight now enable themselves automatically when the values change
French language support
The app now runs in French.
For coaches and clinicians
Most of the structural work in 1.7 went here. If you train other people, assess other people, or treat other people, this is the part that matters.
• Proxy clients. Run a session for someone who does not have a Force Board account. Set up a profile for them, capture the data, and assign it to the right person after the session ends. You no longer need every client to sign up before you can measure them.
• Designed assessments. Purpose-built assessment protocols with a structured PDF report you can export at the end. It is a document you can hand to the person you just tested, or file.
• Client management. Establish a coach relationship, see every session your clients run, send them work to do, set goals, and watch progress against those goals over time.
• Custom assessments. Build your own protocol and give it your own image so it is recognizable in a list of twenty.
What this adds up to: you can measure someone in front of you, send them home with work, and see whether they actually did it before they walk back in. That has been the hardest thing to know and the easiest thing to guess at.
What stays free
We get asked this often enough that it is worth stating plainly. Rate of force development, peak force, the critical force assessment, and CSV export for any session are in the free app and are staying there.

Getting it
Update from the App Store or Google Play, open the app, and let it walk you through the firmware update. That is the whole process.
